Nuremberg Summer Academy for Young Professionals 2022 – Anglophone Edition

The International Nuremberg Principles Academy is pleased to announce that applications for the seventh edition of its Nuremberg Summer Academy are now open. Young lawyers, prosecutors, judges, and academics are invited to apply to the 2022 edition, which will be held online, from 1 to 12 August 2022.

Each year, the Nuremberg Summer Academy, a two-week intensive summer course, provides young professionals with an invaluable opportunity and stimulating learning experience to acquire or deepen their knowledge of substantive and procedural aspects of international criminal law. Guided by leading international experts and practitioners, the participants will acquire practical knowledge on the investigation, prosecution, and adjudication of core international crimes. ´

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the programme will be held online. The two-week intensive summer course will be divided into two parts: (1) live lectures, and (2) guided self-study time via Moodle, including daily quizzes and assignments. The live sessions will comprise eleven lectures, as well as group assignments, followed by interactive discussions.

The program will be organised around one main case study. Lectures and self-study time will provide both an academic and practical perspective of international criminal law, while group assignments and interactive discussions strengthened the learned skills in practical assignments
